    LG G4 (OLED65G4)

Firstly… Picture = 5, Sound = 3, Features = 5. Total = 13. 13/3 = 4.33 out of 5. I must have been wrong about the rules of ‘rounding up’ all these years! Surely this is a 4/5 TV? Secondly… 144Hz? It’s pretty much universally agreed that - dependent on individual, of course - the human eye has...

What was Plasma TV, and why did it succumb to LCD?

"...And high refresh rates – up to 600Hz, compared to LCD's 60Hz or 120Hz.” Erm, no. Incorrect. The 600Hz number used as a marketing tool by certain brands manufacturing plasma. It did NOT refer to the refresh rate - or images per second - in the same way as LCD. It was to do with the sub-pixel...

The iPhone 15 has USB-C, but is it the hi-res audio upgrade we've all been waiting for?

"We'd love for Apple to improve the quality and file limit of its own internal DAC and output stage (it's limited to 24-bit/48kHz) to make hi-res audio listening worthwhile..." Worthwhile how, exactly? 24-bit delivers perfectly adequate roll-off to all but most fastidious of recording...

Philips TVs add Pluto TV – but not all models, for a very good reason

Erm, would the 'good reason' be that Pluto is a bit naff? I mean, come on, who actually watches Pluto TV?

    Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max

Interesting that there are lots of shots of the reviewer holding the Fire Stick in what appears to be their bathroom. I wrapped the first Fire Stick I bought in cling-film and tried having a shower with it a few years back; needless to say, that didn't end well. Be good to know the IP rating of...

Spatial Audio makes more sense in a car than a living room, says Cambridge Audio

Spot on from Cambridge there. I've just moved my Pioneer LX904 receiver and Samsung 65S95 TV from the lounge into my Fiat 500. Atmos sounds so much better. Can't really see out of the front windscreen any more, but worth it for the improved spatial experience tbh.

Integra announces new flagship AVR that's "designed for integrators"

I've just accessed the link for Indigo Distribution mentioned in this article, as interested in a price (strangely, it wasn't listed in the piece), but the link to a trade-only website. In order to get a price for the Integra AVR I have to register my details. Weird, as I thought What Hi-Fi...
